It always makes my job as a wedding photographer, more rewarding when working with a bride who was as excited as Helen was when she married the love of her life, Steve! The service was held at St James church, Braithwell, just outside Rotherham, followed by the wedding reception over in Sheffield, at the beautiful Whitley Hall Hotel.
Errin, Helen and Steve’s 3 year old daughter was an absolute natural in front of the camera, with a beautiful smile, it would have been quite easy for me to just focus on her all day, but she was happy to share the day with her mummy and daddy.
The Vintage VW camper vans that had been lovingly restored, hired to take both Helen and Steve to the church, added a personal and unique theme to the wedding.
Even with all the attention to detail we can’t plan the weather and for the majority of their day we experienced rain, rain, and more rain but as you can see by the photos this didn’t spoil the day, this was contributed by Helen and Steve’s relaxed and fun nature.
The peacocks; residents at the Whitely Hall Hotel made a special entry on to the photos, (we herded the male peacock into position, and he responded with a beautiful display…not sure if he was annoyed, or excited! lol)
There was no end to the personal touches on the day, one of my favourite moments being the look on Steve’s face when Helen had changed out of her girlie wedding shoes in to a cool pair of white Doc Martins, just in time for their first dance.
I have selected a few of my favourite photographs from the wedding below:-

Hi Helen, how are those Doc Martin wedging boots of yours?!! You wouldn’t think that we had had to shepard the peacock in position for one of the shots in the blog post would you!! I see on Face-book that you love the album design Helen (and my new profile pic lol!!) – it is being made by hand in Italy as I speak (well, maybe not at 10:30 at night!) and be here asap!! Phil x
