Alison & Rupert {engaged!}

A selection of photos from Alison & Rupert’s recent pre-wedding photo shoot. The location for the shoot was Bole Hill Park, over looking (a very wind swept!)Sheffield. The lovely couple will exchange wedding vows at the start of June at the beautiful Hodsock Priory

I posted the photos on my Facebook Business Page yesterday, and have since received 3 private messages asking about how I took the photographs with the sky. Where the sky was prominent, I underexposed the background by a stop and a half to retain detail in the clouds, and dialed in the exposure manually (I found that F10 at 1/250sec looked just right). Alison & Rupert would have been silhouetted by the sky, so to expose them correctly, I used off camera flash – on this occasion an Elinchrom Quadra housed within a Deep Octa softbox. This was held around 2 metres away from my clients by my assistant, Enya.

The remaining shots were all shot in aperture mode using a Nikon 85mm 1.4 (wide open at f1.4). Light was reflected back on Alison & Rupert, using a Lastolite trigrip, again held and directed by Enya.

Rossington Hall I Yorkshire Wedding Venue & Hotel

I had the pleasure of photographing what will soon be one of Yorkshire’s, if not one of England’s premier wedding venues, Rossington Hall. Built in 1882, Rossington Hall had over recent years, fallen into a state of disrepairs. This all ended when Gary and his team, purchased the beautiful listed building, before painstakingly starting to restore it to it’s former glory. Due to open in late May this year, Rossington Hall will become one of the most sought after hotels and wedding venues in the Yorkshire area.

None of the people who were photograhed on the mock wedding day were professional models, they were simply friends of everybody at the hall! During the photo shoot, it rained non-stop. In fact it didn’t stop from the moment everybody arrived, until the minute everybody left! I’ll be returning to the Hall in the next few weeks to photograph the exterior of the estate, so make sure to check back. 3 weeks today, Sarah & Ben tie the knot at the beautiful Wentbridge House Hotel down the A1 in West Yorkshire! Most of my pre wedding photo shoots take place on location, however, Sarah & Ben opted for a session at my studio instead. A small taster of their pre wedding photos can be seen below :-

Rhian + Andy {Married!}

Whilst I had half a mile to travel to Haxey Church, Rhian & Andy had the small matter of 6000 miles to travel from their home in Hong Kong! Luckily for them, they travelled over to the UK a couple of weeks prior to their wedding day!

They couldn’t have timed the date of their wedding better, as they managed to grab the only beautiful day we’ve had since Christmas! Following the ceremony Rhian, Andy and their guests headed over to the Mount Pleasant Hotel in Doncaster. Mount Pleasant is the premier wedding venue in the area, with stunning landscaped gardens, fantastic food, and the friendliest staff that you could wish for.
