Whitley Hall Hotel Sheffield Wedding Photographer – {Helen & Steve}

It always makes my job as a wedding photographer, more rewarding when working with a bride who was as excited as Helen was when she married the love of her life, Steve! The service was held at St James church, Braithwell, just outside Rotherham, followed by the wedding reception over in Sheffield, at the beautiful Whitley Hall Hotel.

Errin, Helen and Steve’s 3 year old daughter was an absolute natural in front of the camera, with a beautiful smile, it would have been quite easy for me to just focus on her all day, but she was happy to share the day with her mummy and daddy.

The Vintage VW camper vans that had been lovingly restored, hired to take both Helen and Steve to the church, added a personal and unique theme to the wedding.

Even with all the attention to detail we can’t plan the weather and for the majority of their day we experienced rain, rain, and more rain but as you can see by the photos this didn’t spoil the day, this was contributed by Helen and Steve’s relaxed and fun nature.

The peacocks; residents at the Whitely Hall Hotel made a special entry on to the photos, (we herded the male peacock into position, and he responded with a beautiful display…not sure if he was annoyed, or excited! lol)

There was no end to the personal touches on the day, one of my favourite moments being the look on Steve’s face when Helen had changed out of her girlie wedding shoes in to a cool pair of white Doc Martins, just in time for their first dance.

Doncaster Portrait Photographer {Newy and Friends}

After returning from their first summer holiday together, and before they all head off to uni, college and jobs, Chloe and her friends wanted to capture their time together with a photo-shoot. It was refreshing to photograph a group of friends away from the normal prom shoots. As a reminder of the good times they’d had at music festivals, denim shorts, wellies made the perfect fashion accessories, and a near by farm on the outskirts of Doncaster was the perfect location.

A small selection of the photographs from the day can be seen below:-

Catterick Village Wedding Photography – {Clare & Peter}

Clare and Peter were recently married in Clare’s home town of Catterick, followed by a stunning reception at the nearby family farm. Every last thing had been planned in the finest detail. Nothing had been left to chance – the result was a stunning wedding, from start to finish.

Clare’s dress was beauty personified! It was a classical vintage number by the designer Jenny Packham. We decided to shoot the dress and shoes out in the garden. When I say garden, that doesn’t do it justice! Clare’s father had created a work of art that the late Percy Thrower would have been proud of! (maybe showing my age now – for the younger audience – read Alan Titchmarsh!)

The reception was held within a beautiful marquee at the bottom of the garden.

The speeches were like something from a comedy sketch – hilarious! The 2 best men, devised a story based on Beauty & the Beast!

Friends and family left messages of fun and love to the happy couple of via a chalk board as I shot away on the Photobooth.

A truly magical day. Thank you for letting me share it with you both.

The Mansion, Rounday Park Wedding Photographer – {Kate & Gavin}

Situated at the edge of Roundhay Park, on the outskirts of Leeds, is the magnificent ‘Mansion’. With stunning architectural details, The Mansion affords superb views of the 700 acres of sprawling landscaped Yorkshire parkland, lakes and woodland. Kate and Gavin were a couple who came to me early in their engagement, over a year before their wedding. Needless to say, I have been looking forward it.

Kate and Gav are such a great couple; easy going, blissfully in love, and very photogenic to boot! The wedding was one of the most beautiful, intimate affairs I’ve ever photographed. The beautiful backdrop of The Mansion and Roundhay Park made for some incredible shooting, and I have to say, this wedding is up there with my favorites to date. It was so hard just to choose a select few!

Doncaster Racecourse Wedding Photography {Donna & Adam}

It’s a great feeling when clients love your work, and put their total trust in you – as a result, Donna & Adam gave me free rein over how I photographed their wedding day – they simply let me capture their day in my own style. I had actually met them (and photographed them!) at two previous weddings; last Christmas I had photographed Adam’s sister’s wedding, and a couple of years earlier, I’d captured his cousin’s wedding. I almost feel part of the family now!

Following an intimate family wedding service in the small North Lincolnshire village of Belton, the wedding party headed over to Doncaster Racecourse in Yorkshire to celebrate.

Doncaster racecourse has so many unique aspects to it, from the ultra modern all-seater grandstand through to the 19th century terraced grandstand, and the world famous straight mile of the St Leger Classic.

Donna & Adam were a real pleasure to work with. Thank you for asking me to capture your big day! Here are some of my favourite photographs from the wedding.
