The wedding of Ellie & Uchechi was a truly international affair, with guests flying in from as far away as Nigeria and the United States to celebrate the union of the newly-weds. It was a real honour and pleasure to document and photograph their wedding day.

Ellie & Chech were married at historic Christ Church in Dore, on the outskirts of Sheffield. The following wedding reception was held a couple of miles from Dore at the stunning Whirlowbrook Hall

It was hard to select a just a handful of photographs from the day, but here are some of my favourites.

Gemma & Stevie {Married}

Gorgeous sunshine from sunrise to sunset – how rare is that for a wedding! Gemma & Stevie were blessed with beautiful conditions when they recently married at Tankerlsey Manor Hotel, near Sheffield.

One of the star’s of Gemma & Stevie’s engagement photo shoot was their beautiful German Sheppard Jess. She also made a cameo appearance at the wedding; as the ring bearer no less!

Stevie helped keep the wedding guests cool by serving fresh ice cream from their very own ice cream van that they’d hired for the day!

Emma & Spike {Married!}

I have photographed many weddings over the years, but I can’t think of many that were as fun as Emma & Spike’s – You just have to look at the photos to see what i mean! They tied the knot at the Emmanuel Church, Loughborough, before hosting their wedding reception at the beautiful Quorn Grange Hotel, near Leicester. I photographed their pre-wedding photo shoot just a couple of weeks prior. Emma & Spike are like a comedy duo, and had me in stitches for most of the day, before flying of to the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados – I’m only slightly jealous!

Lauren & Ben {Married}

Every once in while, a wedding comes along, and everything is just incredible to photograph! Lauren & Ben’s beautiful wedding at Aston Hall in Sheffield was certainly such an occasion! From the moment that I pulled back my curtains early in the morning and saw the gorgeous sunshine, viewing Lauren’s vintage wedding dress, the bespoke handmade stationary the couple had ordered, through to the beautiful location of Aston Hall itself, and the stunning evening sunset, everything was just right.

I just loved every second of being with Lauren & Ben and photographing them. The ‘posed’ images of the couple took just ten minutes – just the way, Lauren & Ben (and myself!) wanted it to be!

Marie & Brian {Married}

I recently photographed one of the most moving weddings that I have ever had the honour to capture. Marie contacted me just 3 weeks prior to her wedding to Brian to see if I was available to photograph their big day. Marie’s father, Tommy, is suffering from cancer, and her dream was for him to walk her down the aisle. Her dream came true on March 5th as Tommy proudly walked Marie down the aisle towards her husband to be – Brian.

The church service took place at St Margaret’s church in Swinton, near Rotherham, with the wedding breakfast and reception at Warmsworth Holiday Inn, near Doncaster. Some vicars can be quite obstructive towards photography during the ceremony, however, Father Barley couldn’t have been more accommodating to both myself and the guests. I just wish every vicar was as helpful!

The only downside to the day, was the weather which varied between heavy clouds and rain, not this effected Marie & Brian in anyway. When they arrived at Warmsworth Holiday Inn for the reception, I spent 10 minutes with the newly weds down at Warmsworth Hall and quickly captured a selection of ‘posed’ images. Both Marie & Brian wanted their wedding photography to be as natural and relaxed as possible, which suited me down to the ground.

Despite his illness, Tommy not only walked Marie down the aisle, but stayed throughout the wedding breakfast and in to the evening reception. I’ll never forget the courage and love that he showed Marie & Brian on their big day.

Hellaby Hall Wedding Photographer {Lisa & Matt}

Lisa & Matt recently tied the knot at Hatfield Church on the outskirts of Doncaster, followed by the wedding breakfast at Hellaby Hall. My good friend Paul Wilson, the vicar of Hatfield, carried out the beautiful service, before Lisa and Matt and the wedding congregation headed off to Hellably Hall. Hellaby is such a fantastic setting for a wedding, with beautiful gardens, historic buildings and fantastic staff!

I’ve known both Lisa & Matt for a number of years, and it was an honour when they approached me last year and asked me to photograph their wedding. As the photographs below show, the day was full of love and laughter all the way (and sunshine!!)

Enjoy married life and one another, and thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding!

Lennoxlove House, Edinburgh, Wedding Photographer {Jacky & Chris}

The majority of my wedding photography is booked 12-18 months in advance, however, a couple of months ago, I recieved an email from Liepzig, Germany. Jacky & Christophe asked me if i could photograph their upcoming wedding at Lennoxlove House, just outside Edinburgh, on a Wednesday. Initially, I thought that it was a little dubious, but it soon became apparent that it was a genuine enquiry….I am so glad that it was, as I had such a great time with the couple! I speak next to no German, so it was a good job that the wedding party were fluent in English!

Lennoxlove House is a magical venue, set in acres of flowing countryside, miles away from anywhere…….even my Sat Nav couldn’t find it. Over the years I’ve learnt to take old fashioned paper maps with me as a back up!

German traditions such as the bride and groom meeting each other prior to the ceremony, combined with Scottish kilts and a pied piper gave me ample opportunity to grab some fantastic photos for the couple.

Although I am primarily a Doncaster wedding photographer, I have been lucky enough to photograph weddings throughout Yorkshire, and nationally in London, Leicester, Nottingham, Lincolnshire, Northumberland and Scotland.

Tankersley Manor Sheffield Wedding Photography { Claire & Scott }

The wedding of Claire and Scott took place at Tankersley Manor, Sheffield, on a gloriously sunny day in September. Everyone had a magical time and Claire and Scott were a great couple to work with.

After photographing their big day, I prepared the pictures which Claire and Scott will chose from to be included in their album. I think I managed to capture the unforgettable moments that they will treasure for ever, and pass down for generations to come…..speaking of which, I’ve just discovered that Claire and Scott are expecting their very first child!!! I couldn’t have wished for better news for such a great couple.

Mount Pleasant Doncaster Wedding Photographer {Vicki & Ian)

Mount Pleasant Hotel in Doncaster is one of the most popular wedding venues in South Yorkshire. The building and grounds are beautiful, and it is always a pleasure to photograph weddings there. I returned fresh and my batteries recharged from a fantastic break over on the West Coast of America. Vicki had Ian had booked me back in 2008 to be their wedding photographer. They are such a cool couple, who love partying and poker! From the moment arrived at Mount Pleasant, the sun was blazing – it felt like I was still in California, rather than Doncaster! The entire day was laid back, which suited the Vicki and Ian down to the ground. They had planned every last detail of the wedding exactly how they wanted it. Guests were entertained by Poker and Black Jack and Roulette in between the wedding breakfast and the evening reception. Ian even gave me some complimentary chips, which I quickly squandered! It was a real pleasure to work for the couple as their wedding photographer. A selection of my favourite photos of the day can be seen below.
